Thanks a bunch, Lisa, for providing me with some insight on the upcoming Bears vs Lions tomorrow. It’s surely appreciated.
Kenneth, yes, NWI stands for Northwest Indiana. How long ago was it that you resided in Hobart, IN? That’s right around the corner from me!
Eileen, I agree wholeheartedly about the whole Grossman thing. I’m glad you put your opinion on the blog, so now I don’t feel so alone. I thought about stating my dislikes and the fact that he hasn’t really been what The Bears have needed over the last several years, but I held back – this IS the Bears Super Fan Blog and I didn’t feel comfortable dissing the man, if you know what I mean – but I’m glad you did because now, I can join you!!!
I thought Griese should have gotten the #1 spot, myself. Let’s face it – the man has a heck of a lot more experience than Rex does. But I know how management thinks. You pay huge bucks on signing a player, you have got to put him out there (with your fingers crossed) so he can earn his pay. There’s nothing worse than paying big money for a player who ends up just sitting on the sideline each and every game. It’s simply not practical from a business and management standpoint because it’s wasted money. My feeling, however, is that if someone outplays a first-string player, they deserve the right to play first-string. If someone else comes in and plays better than that person, it’s time to make yet another change. We’re always telling our children, “It’s not about winning, dear. It’s about trying your very best to win – if you don’t win, it’s about learning how to lose gracefully, and of course, always play with great sportsmanship”. But when we’re talking about professional sports, I say it’s all about winning!! Geez! Management should always apply their players to the best of the team’s (and fans) interests. Very simple!
I’m totally happy with who plays the remaining of the positions on the team. It’s just the decisions surrounding the quarterback issue that worries me. I hope for the best, but I do have my fingers crossed for good luck because I’m a little bit worried. You can have the best players in the world, but if you don’t have a talented quarterback leading the offense, every game could end up being guesswork.
Lisa, thanks for filling me in on what the experts are saying about tomorrow’s game. Let’s hope the Bears defense can stick it to them the same way that the Lion’s last opponent did!
Can’t wait until tomorrow!
