Tough Decisions
Gail Freund, Bears SuperfanEven though the Bears lost last night, there were some spectacular plays. Kyle did an excellent job as quarterback. He is so poised and right on target. Garrett Wolfe also did a terrific job. I really like Chris Leak, too. Hopefully, the Bears will find some kind of way to keep him.
The very tough decision is going to be for the wide receiver position. Brandon Rideau was in the running against Mike Hass until he hurt his ankle and was released. Mike had another great day, but what about the catch Ball made? It looked like he held on to it with just two fingers. Mark Bradley had a very good training camp when he was healthy, but the key is staying healthy.
Danieal is having a rough time with the returns. He does very well in other areas but right now he isn't the best one for returns.
Both Brandon and Femi have also had great preseason games. Femi is a good, solid player. He's going to be missed for the first few games while he serves his suspension.
Keep your fingers crossed that Greg Olsen's sprain is just minor and won't sideline him for the next few weeks.
It will be interesting to see if there are any surprises trying to trim the team by 22 within the next 30 some hours.

Bears are on a Winning Streak and its only Pre-Season
Susan Rhein, Bears SuperfanWow, Bears home opener for Pre-Season was awesome. The night was fabulous, not to hot not to cold, the temperature was just right. Then add in the fun and excitement of being at Soldier Field for the Bears vs. 49ers Game and the night becomes even better then you top it off with the Bears dominating the 49ers through the first 45 minutes of a 60 minute football game and lets face it, the night was a complete success.
Okay I know Rex has to work on not dropping the ball once Olin passes it to him and he has to also be able to put the ball in our guys hands but only if the defense from the other team doesn't read our pass first and jump in front our our receiver and snatch it away.
I'm glad this is Pre-Season so that the Bears have time to improve on some of these minor errors that are being made and with practice will come improvement and another chance to make the run for the Superbowl and then the Bears can have their victory parade down the streets of Chicago.
I'm watching the Bears during Pre-Season and its hard to believe that the Bears haven't played a game since February because, in my opinion, the Bears look like they haven't lost a beat from last season, they look totally in sync with each other and that never seemed to happen during the regular season until the third or fourth game. I'm really excited for the Bears this year, with them all being on the same page and with us winning the first three Pre-Season games, I'm excited to see how the Regular Season is going to play out.
I'll be at Soldier Field on Thursday for the final Pre-Season game and I'm really hoping that the Bears will have worked out some if not all of the missed cues and dropped balls by then.

Colts 24, Bears 27
Susan Rhein, Bears SuperfanHello one and all, did you see last nights game, it wasn't pretty but, it was a win. There were a few missed cues and drops but, all in all, the Bears played like the champs we know they are.
I only saw the first half of the game because I was on the phone with a friend long distance but, luckily for me my sister recorded the game so, when I was done talking on the phone I replayed the game. Wow, it was so nice to see the whole team play 60 minutes of football with such unity.
Bring on the 49ers.

It's good to be back in the Bears Blog again.
Susan Rhein, Bears SuperfanGosh its great to be back writing about the Chicago Bears again, I missed writing about our awsome Bears.
I don't know how many of you made it to the convention but it was packed. Wall to wall Bears fans every corner you turned. I didn't make it down for any of the autograph sessions and from what I heard, I was glad I didn't. I heard there were fights that broke out because fans stood in line for hours to get one players autograph only to find out that the player they wanted the autograph from wasn't singing anymore by the time that fan made it up to the front of the line to get the autograph. Sad but oh so true, that is what happens a lot of the time. I guess that fan was a rookie and didn't know that if you want a certain players autograph that you have to be up at the crack of dawn or, you don't sleep at all. That fan will no better next year.
I made it out to training camp for the opening day but unfortunately never made it back after that because other commitments came up. From what I saw, the Bears looked good and it was only opening day. I can't wait to see what the rest of the preseason and season brings us.
Talk about preseason opener coming from behind and then winning the game. How awsome was that?? I was jumping up and down with excitement and high-fived my friends Mom and by doing so, I lost my ring that I wear on my pinky finger. I still haven't found my ring yet but all in all, it was one great/awsome win on Saturday night.
Now its time to take on Indy.

Eileen Firstenberger I don't don't what the rest of you think, but I thought our first game was a good way to start off our season. How like our Bears is it to start it all off with a nailbiter. And isn't Robbie Gould looking good out there?
With that said-- it was strange to see all of those completed passes! I am so used to relying on TJ and our running game. And of course our defense-- as they were as often as not putting points on the board for us.
Some thoughts on the game: Per one of my fellow-bloggers' comments below, I think Olsen looked really great out there too! I saw him at training camp a few weeks ago and he is just so SOLID. NO wobbling or bobbling the football out there. Simply SOLID.
And our other receivers were looking pretty good too-- I think each of them had a great catch in there- Moose, Berrian, McKie. Gilmore... everyone was holding on to the ball. Our returners: not so much. But I suppose we still have time to iron out our returning game while giving Hester the chance to prove himself outside of special teams.
At any rate-- I am looking forward to a great season.

Pre-Season Game 1
Paul Bixby, Bears Superfan Well, what do you know? Our Bears win their first game after losing a disappointing Super Bowl. I'd like to have seen our second and third stringers do a little better at stopping the Texans offense, but there isn't anything to complain about Kyle Orton (or as the BearsCast guys call him, "That Ortman Kid."
Glad to be back this year for another season. Hope the fans will join us. We did well enough last year that NBC5 has been hosting a Cubs Blog and a Sox Blog this baseball season. Let's show those folks how REAL fans blog!

BEAR DOWN CHICAGO BEARS!!
Lisa Schmidt, Bears SuperfanHey everyone! Welcome back to the 2007 season. I am so excited for football. I absolutely hate when it is over. Well, as I have heard Lovie say, our Bears didn't get the job done last year. But this year I think they look outstanding. Devin Hester is going to light up our offense, and Greg Olsen is looking great.
Looking forward to the season ahead! GO BEARS!
