Lisa Schmidt, Bears Super Fan
ORANGE CRUSH! I love it! I love the orange jerseys. I love the pummelling. I love the fact that the week Brian Urlacher is rated the 2nd most overrated player in the NFL, he tips a pass, and makes a ONE-HANDED interception catch. Right, because every Middle Linebacker in the NFL CAN DO THAT! HAHAHA.
What a great game. It's so amusing to find yourself getting upset because the 49ers got a first down -- why did we let that guy get so many yards? I don't think the Bears can be beat at home. They dominate in every aspect of the game. They are almost invincible on their home turf. Every aspect of the game was wonderful. I wanted the shut out, but it wasn't necessary. 41 points at the half. Were the Bears playing a high school team? I wasn't sure.
I have to say, though, I am not at all impressed with Cedric Benson. I find it very interesting that every time it is said that he is going to play more, Jones explodes. Another 100 yard game. Averages 5.5 yards per carry. It is like Jones is proving to the Bears that there is a reason he is their starter -- and there is. Benson doesn't impress me. I know we have alot of Benson lovers out there, and that is fine. I think he is a great back up. But that's what he is -- a back up. And look at Adrian Peterson -- one run and gets 10 yards.
Robbie Gould. What a cutie. Love him. He is on track to break Kevin Butler's record of consecutive field goals and he is sure going to. We have an all around outstanding team. Every one of our starters deserves to go to the Pro Bowl. Even some of our backups deserve to go to the Pro Bowl.
I was not worried about Rex after Arizona, as I know many people were. Every quarterback has a bad day. Good quarterbacks have bad days (even Peyton Manning). But good quarterbacks don't dwell on it, learn from it and improve - i.e., REX GROSSMAN. Rex looked outstanding, a 137.4 passer rating. You know your team is doing something right when your starting quarterback gets to sit out the fourth quarter.
I didn't make a prediction this week for the game, because I figured it would be a blowout, but not like this. So I move on to the Miami prediction -- Bears 44, Miami 7. I just don't see the Bears scoring less than 40 at home all year.
BEAR DOWN CHICAGO BEARS!
