Paul Bixby , Bears Super Fan

Two of our very own Superfanbloggers, Sue Rhein and Eileen Firstenberger, are featured in a Sun-Times article today. Check it out. They are repping for all the lady Bears superfans out there. My lovely wife Mrs. Bixby (Not Her Real Name) is a proud member of your mighty throng! I wish they had mentioned our blog in the article though. It would be nice if readers could get turned onto the blog, late in the season though it may be. Next year maybe.

I tell you, the buildup to the SuperBowl this week has me all atwitter and sitting on the edge of my seat! I have had no less than three SuperBowl related dreams this week, which is odd because I almost never dream. They were weird dreams though. In two of them, the Bears lost and in the last one, the Bears didn't even beat the Saints and I was attending a Colts-Saints SuperBowl (the Colts won 71-41. by the way). I chalk it all up to my anxiety facing the Colts. I'm fairly confident the Bears will win, but the uncertainty is brutal.

I am a little concerned about Peanut (or Chuckie Tills as the BearsCast guys call him covering Marvin Harrison. All it takes is Peanut slipping once, and it's a huge play. Peanut is a top-notch coverage guy, but the Cover-2 (Lovie-2?) defense opens holes that allow the occasional big play, and I think the front four will lock down the Colts run game so tight that Peyton won't have much choice but to throw.

I look forward to watching the Jones-Benson tag team destroy the recently-vaunted Colts pass rush. I don't think they know what they are in for.

Let's cross our fingers too for "Devine" Hester to really light the Colts Special Team up!

I just can't wait! I'll have my beverage of choice, my Doritos (aka, triangular flakes of cheese-covered luck), my Bears shirt I have worn for 17 straight games, my Honey Bears, my darling wife Mrs. Bixby (Not Her Real Name) and my dad and sister. It's gonna be a loud time in the old home tonight - er, Sunday night!
