Lisa Schmidt, Bears Super Fan
Amazing. Stupendous. Superb. There aren't enough adjectives. These Bears are truly awesome. They have everything -- offense, defense, special teams, Robbie "good as gould" Gould. Scoring 40 points was so exciting. It should have been a shut out -- that penalty on Urlacher was crap. But for the most part, I can't really complain about the officiating in this particular game. Every single player on the team did an outstanding job. Berrian is making quite a name for himself, and congrats to Cedric for scoring his first TWO NFL touchdowns, and to Tommy Jones for his 100 yard rushing game.
It's so weird to see the Bears getting national coverage and national praise. I am so not used to it, sometimes I have to watch it over and over to believe it is really happening. Sure, the Colts are still undefeated -- but they are not dominating. Not at all. They almost lost to Tennessee. And part of me really wanted them to lose to Tennessee. There is no doubt in my mind the Bears would rip Peyton apart in the playoffs. These Bears are for real. And the fact that they didn't think they played well enough offensively when they scored 40 points, shows me that they realize they are not invincible -- but they are pretty darned good.
I love that Rex got to sit out the entire fourth quarter. I love that Griese is 5 for 5 in passes. I love that the defense got 3 sacks, 3 interceptions, recovered a fumbled punt, I can go on and on. They walk on that field like there is nothing they cannot go. And to be honest, I can't think of one thing they can't.
YOU ARE THE PRIDE AND JOY OF ILLINOIS.
