Kenneth Sothman, Bears Superfan

Shock and awe.

That's the best way I can describe Sunday's victory against the Seahawks, which I've been trying to write about for the past day or so. Truthfully, I'm still not even sure if I'm going to find the right words now to justify just how good this Chicago Bears team is.

Because honestly, I have never seen a football team play like this before this early in the season. And that comes a year after I was forced to watch the Colts every weekend on their way to a choke-job on their "undefeated" season.

With that said, I believe Sunday night's game can definitely go down as "The Win". Onto some notes about the "Da Bears"....

- Just in case nobody else picked up on it, John Madden gave more compliments to Bernard Berrian in a three-quarter span then he may have received his whole career. "You see Bernard Berrian is the speed guy" had to have been repeated about six times. Still, I'll take John Madden on my broadcast anytime a football game is on.

- It's getting really hard to find anything bad to say about Rex Grossman, especially since I personally have always backed him the whole way, but my good friend and fellow bears fan Katie has been able to spot something rather odd. "Do you realize Rex has the most perfect girl eyebrows? Honestly, I wish I could just steal them right from him..."

- Now that I've mentioned both Grossman and Madden, how about the comparison Madden made of Grossman to Brett Favre? I'm a huge fan of this, especially if it keeps our boy throwing the long ball.

- Right now experts seem to be in a tug-of-war on claiming who is the best team in the league with the Colts getting the nod, but either way I hope the Sports Guy Bill Simmons isn't paying attention. Hey Mr. Simmons, I think the Bills are looking really good this weekend...

- Once again, take a look at the PF and PA section of your newspaper's standings tomorrow morning. As I noted about two weeks ago, it will send shivers down your spine.

- Who's Cedric Benson?

- It was great to see Ricky Manning step-up and hopefully put his past behind him. I wouldn't consider him a personal favorite of mine though, but at least he got the job done.

- On a random note, was anybody else really dissapointed on the Dusty Baker firing? When was the last time a sports city had such a great combination of first names for their coaches? I'm not sure anything topped Lovie, Ozzie, Scottie, and Dusty...

- Since I'm sorta on random stuff anyways, is there a story behind how Staley the Bear got his name? Danielle, as the intern, I have full faith in you finding this one out.

- I'll admit it, Devin Hester is starting to scare me a little bit. I like him being a gambling man and all, but this isn't a video game, sometimes you do actually have to take the fair catch. He is a rookie though, so he will learn, but I just don't want it to be in a situation that could cost us a game.

- Somewhere Erik Kramer was pumped when he was brought up as one of the best Bears quarterbacks of all-time.

- You know your team is good when all the hot girls on campus start wearing that team's shirt. Trust me, I'm loving it....

- On a final note, I think it would make my year if Rex Grossman came on this blog and said "Ken, the next touchdown I throw is for you man."
