Eileen Firstenberger - Bears Superfan

Firstly: I know I am late to report on this, but... Oh… my… GAWD! What a phenomenally AWESOME game! I can’t even begin to describe the level of energy on the field (and of course in the stands!) on Sunday night. I’m sure y’all saw it and felt it for yourselves—and I hope that some of you were there in person for it too. It was NON-stop for the entire game and I have NEVER heard the crowd be so loud for the entirety of the game, maybe EVER.

Secondly: I apologize for being remiss in my blogging here with my fellow Superfans. I got back into the country last Wednesday and have been slowly recovering from jet lag since then. Going to both the Cubs game and BEARS game on Sunday as well as the ND Purdue game (ok, just on TV) on Saturday didn’t exactly help. I am all apologies in that regard.

Now back to the game: I have said before that Berrian must put glue on those gloves, and I will say it again. WOW. He just continues to pull all stops in order to make that catch. I mean a 40+ yard touchdown catch?!!? C’mon! Everyone was going crazy. And Sexy Rexy dropped the football right where it was supposed to be.

I was so happy to see my main man, Hunter (Hottie) Hillenmeyer back in play as I missed him when he was concussed, and last week while I was away (and I know Ayanbadejo did a GREAT job filling in, as you mentioned, Gail), but as far as the defense goes Hello! Ricky Manning Jr.!! TWO interceptions!! My defense never fails to pleasantly surprise and astound me.

And now, when you google the Chicago Bears (Danielle—it looks like you are doing some good research, so you can read up now), you see some of the sports writers naming them as the THE team to beat and even to go so far as to say that they are the best in the NFL which is a far far cry from what those same writers said at the beginning of this season.

It’s about time they all caught up with what we have known all along, eh Superfans?

So, pictures of the game to follow, if I can ever figure out how to post them :)

Bear Down Chicago!
