Paul Bixby , Bears Super Fan

I owe the fine Bears Super Fan Blog Readers an apology or two. Apology the first: I'm sorry I sound like a dork in my intro post. That is the essay I submitted to apply to become a Bears Super Fan blogger. I don't really sound like that when I'm not interviewing for a job.

Apology II: The Return! I am also sorry that my blog picture looks like I am wearing Lions colors. I promise you that the shirt is pale blue and the tie is also a dark blue. The shine on the tie makes it look like silver. Credit to fellow Mark Bradley for having the sense to wear Bears colors in his headshot.

With that out of the way, I must tell you I nearly committed a larger crime than wearing division rival colors in a Bears blog headshot (at least it wasn't green and - *ack* - gold): I actually scheduled a blood-donation appointment on Sunday. At 1 p.m. I don't know where you are, but here in Chicago, 1 p.m. comes after noon. Until I got to the nearest emergency Bears schedule, I was in a near panic because I thought the game was at noon.

Obviously, this summer has been too long. My knee-jerk "Not on Sunday!!" reflex is rusty. I can't believe I almost scheduled anything during a Bears - *ack* - Packers game! That was lucky. My dad would have been so ashamed of me!

I can't wait til Sunday. Go Bears!
