Mark Bradley, Bears Super Fan

So I'm happy for my buddy -- he is a big Steelers Fan! The Steelers played a good game last night for the season opener & did it without injured starting QB - Ben Roethlisberger.

I think the game ball should go to Charlie Batch & Willie Parker. Charlie Batch was sharp in place of Ben Roethlisberger, going 15-25 for 209 yards and three touchdowns. But Willie Parker helped keep the Miami defense off balance, and pressure off Batch, rushing 29 times for 115 yards.

So why talk about the Steelers in a Bears SuperFan Blog?
1) Steelers are the XL SuperBowl Champs
2) The Bears don’t play them – Unless it happens in the Playoffs

In my opinion (Judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty,) the Steelers and Bears are somewhat the same team, built around the same basic concept: great defense & the relentless pursuit to run and pound the ball for offense. The key being the Steelers are about 2 years ahead of the Bears in terms of maturity assessment in key positions.

Hear me out on this one...
Both teams pride themselves on a strong defense
Both teams focus on the running game first
Both teams have good / average special teams
Both teams 2005 Record: (11-5)

The major difference between the Bears & Steelers is that the Steelers have a better passing game; and that's what I'm hoping the Bears will be able to develop this season. Thus putting the Bears in stronger position for the Playoffs / SuperBowl.
