Kenneth Sothman, Bears SuperfanKenneth Sothman, Bears Superfan

I’m pretty confident in saying that all Bears fans are going to wake up smiling tomorrow morning. After heartbreak after heartbreak that Brett Favre has caused us during the years, a 26-0 beating that ends the Packers consecutive games with at least a score is the icing on the cake. This maybe the worse we’ll ever make Brett look (actually you can argue this is the worse anybody has ever made him look), but trust me, many more quarterbacks are going to look this bad against us also.

Some random thoughts:

- Rex Grossman is my boy and starting quarterback. PERIOD. I’ll admit it scared me at the beginning of the game when a friend of mine pointed out this was his fourth year. How could it have really been this long since I bought his rookie card? By now I pictured Rex being on the cover for Madden, shooting Reebok commercials, and having short-term relationships with Mandy Moore and Maria Sharapova. Yet in reality he has less experience then Alex Smith, and has less celebrity girlfriends then Matt Leinart. With that said Rex played amazing to the standards Bears fans should hold to a quarterback. It may not seem like it to any other fan of other teams, but a one touchdown and 262 yard day to us feels like a five touchdown and 450 yard day to Peyton Manning.
- Speaking of Grossman, whenever you guys want to start a “Buy Ken a Grossman Jersey” fund, you’re more then welcome too.
- Is there any chance I could get a Rex Grossman game used arm-band?
- Of course you can’t have a great day out of a quarterback without having a great day from your receivers. Props to Berrian, Clark, and Muhammad for carrying Rex to a win. I wouldn’t dare say all of his passes were perfect, but they were good enough for these guys to make some great plays on. How does Berrian get left that wide-open anyways?
- Just for kicks, check out how high Berrian and Grossman both get when they chest bump each other. The picture inside the photo-gallery for the game on ESPN’s web site is wall-paper worthy.
- Speaking of receivers, why is Muhammad all of a sudden deciding to eat healthy now? As a professional athlete that gets paid millions of dollars to stay fit, shouldn’t proper nutrition be your number two priority after exercise?
- Ball State alumni Brad Maynard makes us prouder with every kick. I'd love to set-up an interview with him one day if that would be possible.
- What more could be said about our defense that hasn’t been said already? Even Danielle Manning (the only true Manning of the NFL) looked like an all-pro. We have a great defense, but we must also remember, they do have a horrible team. Still they get an A+ for the day, but better keep it up next week against the Lions.
- Is there anything mystical left about playing in Lambeau Field against the Packers anymore? I blame Michael Vick for this.
- My last mention of Brett Favre. Why is it when Favre throws a horrible interception, the announcer’s claim he’s just “trying to win the game”? How does that make it ok to throw a horrible interception? If Jake Plummer throws that same interception critics would have a field day on him. Honestly, at this point Brett Favre is hurting his team in more ways then Terrell Owens or Deion Branch ever could. Of course, with every Favre start, it just brings the Packers one game closer to drafting Adrian Peterson…
- Devin Hester is amazing. If you don’t believe me, play last year’s version of NCAA Football with Miami. Yes, sometimes video games do come in handy.
- For the sake of Kyle Orton, please somebody cut his hair.
