Have the rest of you heard the story yet about the furniture store owner in Plano who ran a sale promotion the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Labor Day Weekend? Well, if you haven’t, here goes. . . . . .
He placed a huge inflatable football outside of his business establishment and had a bunch of posters made up, stating that if The Bears shut out the Green Bay Packers this past Sunday (which was highly unlikely – he thought), he would provide a full refund to anyone who bought furniture during the 4-day promotion. All I’ve got to say is that it’s a good thing he insured the promotion; otherwise he’d be feeling a heck of a lot more hurt right now. News reports claim that there was approximately $275,000.000 worth of furniture sold during the promotion. It really ends up being a good thing for both his business and the insurance company because now, both companies are receiving good publicity over the entire incident.
Oh yeah – and one other thing!! To my Uncle Harold: You had better stop betting The Packers over The Bears with me every game because it’s getting really hard to take your case of beer every time! I’m starting to feel really guilty!!! (Not really!)
