Are you ready for some football??? Last night was exciting…the season has finally begun. To top it off it was a great game with some hilarious commercials.
Can’t wait till the big game Sunday. Unfortunately, that means the weekend is almost over but that’s a small price to pay to see our Bears back in action. Does everyone have some gameday traditions? Every Sunday we would have a tailgate party of sorts. My dad would grill steaks outdoors, my mom would make potato salad, we would drink a bottle of champagne and be ready for the game. We would eat indoors but I can still feel the chill of outdoors and taste those steaks grilled medium rare…
I went to college in Kenosha but was lucky enough not to run into many Packer fans. Probably because it was a “suitcase” college. On Sundays my folks drove up to take me out to dinner at Ray Radigans. We would eat dinner in the barroom….you guessed it…watching the Bears game. Occasionally, for my mom’s benefit, we would eat somewhere else but keep asking for updates on the score.
Now, as I’m sure the rest of you do, my best friend and I get decked out in our Bears’ clothing, put out the large inflatible Bear player (the flag is already flying) and settle back to watch the game. I’ll probably serve cheese.
Whatever your tradition, have fun. GO BEARS!
