Eileen Firstenberger, Bears Super Fan

Ok, so unlike some of my fellow bloggers, I admit am not the biggest fan of (Sexy) Rexy Grossman. I'm sorry to say it-- but it's true. And I have to get that off my chest before I begin with my serious blogging. He just seems to exhibit an abundance of undue confidence (dare I say bravado? Sense of smugness? Overall condescending attitude and no tangible rapport with his teammates, save Moose who he is ALWAYS talking to on the sidelines. Seriously-- watch them in the next game) for someone who has shown us very little in the way of phenomenal (or mediocre?) playing out on the field and instead has provided us with plenty of fodder off the field. With that being said, I will always cheer our QB on, and I will go so far as to venture to say today that I liked what I saw from him on Sunday.

My boys on the defense held their ground (of course). There was a special teams touchdown (Let's keep our eyes on Hester, eh folks?), and FOUR field goals (I am still upset that I did not get Gould in my Fantasy Football draft). To top it all off-- Moose was totally on the loose with over 100 yards in the game!!

And Rexy? He did very well. Completed most of his passes. Looked like a real QB out there. Made next to no grievous mistakes (save the reprehensible interception/ GB touchback on the pass thrown to the only three men in the BEARS endzone in Green and Gold which I will kindly skim over out of the pure unadulterated kindness of my heart). I admit, I still held my breath in terrified anticipation with each of his passes-- but all in all: most ended well. And I will take that to bode for very good things for us this season.

So, enough about LAST Sunday, is everyone ready for Detroit?

Let the countdown begin.

Bear down, Chicago. Chicago, Bear down.

On a completely unrelated note... Lisa: I can't wait until we can post pictures. I have some training camp pictures of Mike Brown from when it was like 109 degrees and the training camp was almost canceled due to the heat. Just YOU wait. They are something special.
